How Often Should Mapping be Done?

The following are general guidelines for how often to get mapped when you are on Dr. St. Amand's Guaifenesin Protocol for Fibromyalgia. They are based on information obtained from Dr. St. Amand's Office.

1. Get a Baseline Map. Get mapped BEFORE you begin taking guaifenesin. This is your first mapping, and not only does it verify whether you have fibromyalgia, but it also establishes a baseline for all future mappings.

2. Get Mapped Every Month Till You Are Sure You Are On the Correct Dosage. Get your second map done a month after you start taking guaifenesin, and continue to get mapped every month until you are sure you are on the right dosage. If the front of your left thigh clears, you know you are on the correct dosage. If the front of your left thigh has not cleared, you may either be blocking or need a higher dose of guaifenesin.

3. Continue to Get Regular Mappings. After you are sure you are on your correct dosage, plan to get mapped at least every 6 months. This is a safety check to ensure against blocking and to make certain you are still making progress. You can get mapped sooner than this if you have any questions or concerns about your progress. If deposits don't decrease between mappings, the dose is too low or you are blocking.

Note: At some point during the protocol you may decide your progress has slowed down too much for your satisfaction. If so, you may want to adjust your dose upward in order to continue "clearing out" at a more rapid rate
